Passed Microsoft Azure Architect Design AZ301 Exam on 4th August

Plus AZ300, now I am officially Azure Solutions Architect Expert! My hard work is paid off. So happy~

AZ301 is very much alike AZ300 but more focused on solutions design. I spent a lot time to practice using my free $200 credits. The official site has rich material from case studies to sand box practices. I really like some high quality labs which provide step by step instructions to build things like a data warehouse with Synapse Analytics or a scalable application through scale sets. I can feel the logic behind how to design a sound solution with key Azure technologies.

My AWS SAP background does help me a lot to speed up whole learning process. I feel AWS, AZURE and GOOGLE are not mutually exclusive in term of core cloud technologies, data encryption in transit and at rest, eleven nines of storage durability, virtual network design, a horizontally scalable, globally-distributed, multi-model database, etc. I think the key competition is how to create a bullet proof and high performance solution by combining various ingredients to meet industry specific usage scenarios. I always say technology without massive adoption is incompetent. If you watch a few AWS re:Invent video clips and check out AWS customers’ cloud journey, you shall know what I mean.

Microsoft Azure Virtual Training Day (webinar series) started from 6th July. There are plenty virtual sessions covering various Azure topics. The downside is that it’s in US timezone so I have to stay awake at 2am Australian east time. ;(

My exam has no labs. In addition to multiple choice questions, a few case studies, some drag and drop and hotspots. My final score is 842.
